Bio

Kyoungmi Kim is a professor at the Department of Public Health Sciences focusing on biostatistics. She particularly uses statistical methodologies to locate complex disease genes in quantitative genetic analysis and bioinformatics tools to understand molecular functions combining different types of -omics data.

Additionally, she focuses on computational and statistical approaches to disease biomarker discovery, including early detection of diseases (such as cancers and genetic disorders) and predictions of responses to therapeutic interventions and risk of patient stratification.

She also collaborates on projects addressing the genetic component of multi-factorial chronic conditions such as neurodegenerative disease, heart disease, metabolic disease and cancer.
