Meetings, seminars and other events

The UC Davis Environmental Health Sciences Center offers classes, meetings, seminars and other opportunities to become engaged and involved in the work our Center does. Some events are public and others closed for specific working groups.

Below is a list of regular meetings and events. There's always more going on, so check back on our events calendar regularly for updates. Contact Ruth Williams ( if you have questions or would like more information about a specific meeting or event.

Aims Review Meetings Monthly

Investigators preparing to submit a grant proposal are invited to share their Specific Aims page and get feedback from experts in Epidemiology, Exposure Science, Toxicology, Biostatistics, Translational Medicine, and Community-Based Participatory Research. If you are new to writing "Specific Aims," feel free to reach out or explore this guide from NIH.

If you would like to participate in an Aims Review, fill out this submission form and email Ruth Williams ( your aims by noon on the Friday before the Aims Review meeting.

EHS Science Seminar Series | Bimonthly

Our bimonthly Science Seminar is open to everyone, providing a great way to stay current on the latest work in Environmental Health Sciences. Often, we feature presenters that received an EHS Award providing an update on their projects followed by a discussion.

In 2023, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Hostinar, who presented “Associations of air pollution with peripheral inflammation,” Dr. La Saponara, who presented “Researching mycelium composites,” and Dr. Cortopassi, who presented “Quaternary Ammonium Compounds, we once thought were benign, inhibit mitochondria and cause lung toxicity in mice.”

Applied Biostatistics Seminar  |  Periodically

The Applied Statistics for Translational Researchers Seminar series consists of periodic seminars on a wide variety of topics in biostatistics, study design and data analysis. Seminars are suitable for clinical or translational scientists/scholars in any biomedical or health-related field at all levels. Learn more and visit the UC Davis CTSC Resource Library for past seminar recordings.
